Besides just reading articles all the time, you should also always keep yourself updated with the available cards in the format through visual spoilers or browsing through discussion forum constantly. When a new format is about to be released, go through the whole spoiler card by card to know every available card in the format, even you did or did not attend the prerelease. Doing so would help you prepare your games and decks against cards in the format, as you know now which card could single handedly destroy your deck or vice versa against another deck.

An example here would be the all-star dredge deck that was amazingly powerful and popular a year back in extended. It was so powerful that every deck prepares multiple sideboard slots against it, but is the deck prepared for these sideboard cards? As the deck revolved around its graveyard, it has to take into consideration all cards that could single handedly destroy it, and how to go against them. You will need to pack permanent removals for Leyline of the Void, Tormod’s Crypt or Yixlid Jailer. Is that enough? Do you win when your opponent is tapped out? No because there’s lots of Ravenous Traps running around! What if you don’t have 3 cards going into your graveyard this turn?

There’s still Faerie Macabre to consider! However, when a deck board in such cards which does not interact with itself, it makes the deck weaker against different source of threats. Several pros attempt to attack this angle through a transformation sideboard of heavy creatures and equipment. Doing so would in return caught the opponent who might (or might not) boarded in a million anti graveyard cards, and thus stealing back the sideboard games. This is a basic example of understanding the cards available in the format against you, and vice versa against others, could help you win or lose a game.

1.	Constantly check your own and your opponent’s graveyard to know what cards have been used.
A simple move that goes a long way in your games, constantly checking the graveyards allow you to remind yourself what spell has your opponent played and how many copies of a card is left in your deck. If your opponent has exhausted all 4 copies of his Day of Judgement, you have no more worries of pouring all your creatures to the battlefield!

2.	Take lots of notes! Whenever your opponent searches his library for a card, or after you’ve Duress them, take note of the cards in your opponent’s hand.
Knowing what cards your opponent has in hand allows you to plan out your moves careful to avoid falling behind tempo and cards. If your opponent has revealed a Consume the Meek via your Goblin Guide, take note of it so you won’t over commit and walk straight into it!

3.	Take your time to consider your options and outs before rushing into a decision, it’s too late to pull back once you’ve made the wrong play.
Think carefully and consider your options before making a play too quickly. You might be excited when you pull a Lightning Bolt of the top when your opponent is at 3 life, but don’t be too hasty and slam it down when your opponent has tons of open mana! You might walk into a counter magic or damage prevention that then cause you the game. Consider your options, and then play accordingly.

4.	Prepare notes for yourself to read during sideboard time to remind yourself your game plan against a specific deck.
With the new M11 rules, it is now legal to bring notes and refer to them between rounds and games in a tournament. Write up notes regarding your game plan and sideboard against different decks, and then refer to them during sideboard time to reaffirm your plan.

5.	Learn to mulligan aggressively if your deck relies on specific cards to work.
A lot of hands seems playable and decent, but if your deck needs a specific card to operate or a specific hate card that single handedly win you games against your opponent’s deck, throw them away till you find the card. If you’re opponent is playing a deck base relying on graveyard, you can afford to mulligan down to 5 to find that sideboard Leyline of the Void and still win the game.

I heard about a new product recently that has been gathering a good amount of buzz in the Magic community.

It happens every now and then – someone comes along with an incredible claim and the players (like myself) who have been around for a long time cock and eyebrow and start asking questions. It’s a good practice as it weeds out the people who are only throwing recycled information at us and trying to sell it. Eventually though, especially with a product like Joe Soh’s ‘Play Magic Like The Pros’ Guide stand up and share with the world what the new product actually is so that the constant questioning and nay saying can die down.

I’ve had a couple of weeks now with this guide and that time has given me more than enough to share my experiences with you. At first, I was skeptical, I heard rumors going around saying Joe Has released a guide. Joe is twice National champion of Malaysia participated in many Grand Prix, Pro Tours and World Championships. Some of you may know him as the younger brother to multiple PT top 8 and Invitational winner Terry Soh (currently world ranked no.11). I am still bewildered at why Joe is revealing the secrets that pro players do not want us to know.

Joe’s guide is different from every other guide for a few good reasons. First, it provides what none of them do – a complete guide on the game- as told through the eyes of an expert. Starting with the beginners guide and going through each phase of the game to describe how you can improve your game instantly, even if you’re a complete beginner.

Basically, with Joe’s guide, you’re getting something that very few other players could have written – you’re getting the culmination of years of experience and practice playing the game made possible and it is among the best I’ve yet seen. The information and strategies are jam packed in 8 guides. If you haven’t yet, visit the site and read more about this top notch, one of a kind Magic Guide.Click Here:

Make Money from your spare Magic the Gathering (MTG) Cards

Dear Magic the Gathering (MTG) player,

After years of playing and trading Magic the Gathering cards, I got fed up with having so many Magic the Gathering cards lying around that I wasn’t using and that were sitting there depreciating in value. To cap it all, with so many MTG cards I couldn’t even find anything – I found this was so annoying and furstrating.

How many of the following are frustrating you?

You have far too many cards that you don’t use.

It always takes you ages to find any Magic the Gathering card in your collection.

Perhaps you used to play but your MTG cards are now gathering dust in a forgotten cupboard.

You feel as though you should be selling some of those cards off, but don’t feel confident enough to do so.

There’s just so many cards, you don’t know where to start.
